Imagine a B.C. Attorney General called Niki Sharma who is supposed to stand for fairness in judicial matters taking on a constitutional challenge that protects people with pets and animals from having them seized while under veterinary care.

And that is despite a Campaign started by the BC SPGA prior to any court matters with the the public strongly objecting to the BC SPCA tactic of seizing animals in veterinary care.

Marie-louise Felicia Allen was in disbelief and shock when the BC SPCA raided the premises where her little therapy pony of eleven years was recovering well from a shoulder injury under the care of his veterinary team. The BC SPCA had hired a veterinarian, Dr. Amanda Gilliland, who refused to contact the veterinary team about the pony and she euthanized the pony that same day.

It raises an important question: Why did another veterinarian, Dr. Jane Westendorf, provide a written complaint about the pony that she had not examined since the day she attended by permission of Felicia as an "observer" of Felicia's veterinary team diagnosis and recommended treatment? "I later found out that Dr. Westendorf has a history helping the BC SPCA and women loose their horses because of her actions. Ironically, Dr. Amanda Gilliland her friend, is part of that union as well."

A spokesperson for the BC SPGA said, "At the trial the evidence showed that Dr. Jane Westendorf had written a complaint to the BC SPCA about the pony recommending euthanasia and she testified that she had not shown the written complaint to Felicia's veterinary team. The BC SPCA investigation carefully side-stepped the treating veterinary team by not including them.

Considering that Dr. Jane Westendorf admitted at the trial that she was not the treating veterinarian and had not seen the pony's recovery during the approximate three months of veterinary treatment by his veterinary team, the BC SPGA deemed the 'selective' investigation methods similar to other complaints received was reason to recommend that a task force be appointed."
