In a recent provincial court decision, the Judge ruled that even though the guardian's animal was under veterinary treatment the BC SPCA could seize the animal anyway and charge the pet guardian.
In 2024, the BC SPCA recorded a 350% increase in disputes against animal removals from pet guardians
stemming from their investigations and they were successful in keeping or selling (or euthanizing)
in 95% of these decisions upheld by the Courts or Animal Appeals tribunal. This shows how
the BC SPCA easily obtain electronical warrants from complaints by the public (often anonymous) and enter people's properties to
take their pets to euthanize or profit from.

BC SPGA's management is composed of volunteers with a strong commitment to animal caregivers and their animals and pets. A description of our programs and services is located in the Programs section.
What is special about the BC SPGA membership?
The BC SPGA society is a member-funded, non-profit, incorporated society funded primarily by its members to carry on activities for the benefit of its members, the BC animal guardian public and their pet or animals. The Society also accepts public donations.
What happens after I pay for my membership?
After payment has been processed for a membership you will receive a Welcome email!
Is GST included in the membership?
GST is included in the membership fee.

Your receipt is provided by our secure and reputable internet payment processor upon the successful completion of a membership purchase.
Is my membership automatically renewed every year?
Your membership is automatically renewed every year although you can cancel at any time. Refunds are available on a membership in the first month of the membership with a $20 processing fee. The BC SPGA may also choose to cancel your membership for any reason and the entire annual fee paid is then reimbursed.
